Lluís Alexandre Casanovas Blanco, born in 1985 in Ripoll, Girona, is a Madrid-based architect and curator. He is a curator and scientific advisor for the new architecture and design collection at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. With a PhD in Architectural History and Criticism from Princeton University, Casanovas has held fellowships at the Whitney Independent Study Program and participated in the IKKM-Weimar Princeton Summer School for Media Studies.
Trained at ETSAB Barcelona and the Edinburgh College of Art, he graduated with honors from Columbia University's MSc in Advanced Architectural Design. His awards include the Simon Architecture Prize and the Bauwelt Prize, and he has curated prominent exhibitions, including the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2016. Casanovas has published articles in various journals and has taught at institutions like Columbia GSAPP and Princeton University, contributing significantly to contemporary architecture and design discourse.
