KSA Pavilion
Japan, Osaka
completed
in 2025

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka located on the Yumeshima waterfront. This remarkable structure offers a unique spatial experience, reflecting the rich heritage of Saudi towns and cities while fostering immersive engagement with the Kingdom's hidden wonders. With a focus on sustainability, the Pavilion has achieved the highest rating of the Japanese green building system and aims for net zero operational carbon, reinforcing a commitment to environmental responsibility.

Upon entering the Pavilion, visitors are welcomed by a forecourt adorned with native Saudi flora, which leads them through narrow streets to the heart of the structure - the Saudi Courtyard. This versatile space serves as a tranquil area for reflection during the day and transforms into a vibrant venue for performances and events at night. The Pavilion further invites exploration through a 'village' of winding streets, each offering portals to immersive spaces designed in collaboration with Journey (59 Productions and Squint/Opera).

This collaborative effort ensures that the Pavilion honors Saudi architectural heritage while providing an authentic glimpse into the Kingdom's urban life. It emphasizes creating meaningful connections between visitors and Saudi artists, musicians, and the ongoing national transformation.

The Pavilion embodies an innovative design ethos, merging traditional influences with modern technology, and serves as a microcosm of Saudi culture and future aspirations. With its organic forms reminiscent of traditional villages, the structure showcases a sophisticated interplay of architecture and environment, optimized for comfort and harmony within its surroundings.
