This project reimagines a street-level workspace for Blow Models, a leading agency managed by Xavi and Natalia Fabregas, blending industrial relics with a visionary landscape concept. It unites two distinct volumes: a historic modernist building with distinctive wooden portals and openings, and a series of three warehouse structures, with the central one left unbuilt atop, forming a curated environment for photography and model work.
The central idea is to develop an internal 'garden' that acts as the core of the space, channeling natural light through a large skylight that illuminates the entire hall and surrounding zones. This creates a layered, landscape-like environment where vegetation, voids, and architectural elements intersect, aspiring to evoke digital dream worlds within a physical landscape - an encouraging backdrop for creative photo shoots.
Informed by the original volumes, the design preserves the spatial integrity by removing false ceilings and partitions, amplifying the building's natural volume. The open-plan layout extends into the street-facing facade, with strategic placement of functional zones. A minimalist, sculptural stainless-steel bar serves as a welcoming initial point for visitors - an intimate lounge and model meeting space that culminates in a controlled section for photography, covered by a curtain.
Private functions like bathrooms and make-up areas are thoughtfully integrated along the street facade, with expansive glass walls, natural stone elements, and a full-height mirror contributing to a fluid, open aesthetic. The overall composition emphasizes the experience of volume, light, and landscape, creating a dynamic environment where models, creatives, and objects coexist in a space that is as much an artistic landscape as it is a working studio.
