Songmont is a leading Chinese brand that designs functional and beautiful bags, inspired by Eastern philosophy focusing on self-awareness and freedom. They commissioned a design team to create a unique brand space that serves multiple purposes, including exhibitions, meetings, and relaxation areas.
Located in a cultural park in Cuigezhuang Town, Beijing, the project aims to provide an engaging environment away from the city's noise.
The original building had a simple factory design, and the design team aimed to preserve its structure while creating a distinctive identity. The design concept, named "Frame Courtyard," introduces a series of frames that enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. This approach allows for improved natural light and ventilation while creating a harmonious and welcoming atmosphere.
A standout feature of the design is the cafe, which opens to both the park and courtyard, blending furniture with architectural elements for a seamless user experience. The courtyard features a reflective waterscape that adds beauty and can serve as a venue for events.
Inside, the design includes meeting rooms and studios that maintain privacy while remaining connected to the courtyard. Warm tones and carefully chosen materials create an inviting atmosphere throughout the space. Overall, the design embodies the ideas of introspection and contemplation that are rooted in Eastern philosophy, making it a meaningful destination for visitors.
