Australia, Melbourne

in 2014
MPavilion 1 chair (MP1C) was designed by Sean Godsell is an integral part of the inaugural MPavilion's holistic design and reflects Godsell's architectural vision in furniture design. The chair features a seat made from laminated wood supported by bent tubular steel legs, combining durability with a sleek aesthetic. As part of MPavilion, this chair is used in various events hosted at the pavilion, allowing visitors to engage with the space and enjoy performances, lectures, and gatherings in a thoughtfully designed environment.

Godsell’s approach to the chair embodies a desire to extend architectural principles into furniture design. The chair's smooth, organic form contrasts with the angular geometry of the MPavilion 1, showcasing a harmonious balance between structure and comfort. The design captures the essence of Godsell’s clean and bold aesthetic, ensuring that the furniture complements the overall architectural intent of the pavilion. Its simplicity and elegance are meant to enhance the experience of the space while providing functional seating for visitors.

Manufactured by Workspace Commercial Furniture in Perth, the chair highlights attention to craftsmanship and quality, reinforcing the connection between architecture and furniture design.
